I leave the internet alone for a day or two, and suddenly the NHS is, to his own and everyone else's great surprise killing Stephen Hawking, and recruiting terrorists. (I don't really know what's worse about that video, the stupidity about socialised healthcare or the unbelievable xenophobia.)

Also someone in the house of lords doesn't approve of porn that is written down. Though the Dangerous Text amendments were dropped, apparently, so fanfic is safe, but my favourite pervy manga is presumably still in trouble. :| This is so stupid, guys. You must have better things to do than making it criminal to be turned on by weird things.

Anyway. I finally put all my postcards and pictures up on the wall the other day, so with the new desk and all it feels even more like a proper room, now:

I also got my JLPT application in the mail this morning. :3 Exciting!

In other news, job searching is still a pain. I can't even think of a bullshit made up reason for wanting to go into a "exciting career in sales", never mind a real one. >_< I'm tempted to just give up on job-finding websites and just look if there's a museum or a library or any interesting place that has a vacancy I'm qualified for*. Or apply for the assistant manager position at Costa in Cobham. -_-

*I know this is sot of obvious, but I've been so focused on the fact that it's so hard to get jobs and that I can't afford to be picky etc. etc. that it actually only occurred to me just now that I might want focus on things that I am actually interested in and suited for. ¬_¬

This is my theory about K-On!. (Come on. The show is very pretty, but nothing ever happens; what do you expect me to do with my time?)

K-On Theory of Nascent Lesbianism

I do not have any theories about BSG, except ones that involve me making out with hot robot chicks. Well, no, I have some ideas, but I stopped making serious plot-predictions when they started plotting their course by 2000-year-old inscriptions and it worked. XD

In other news, as soon as I'd given out my two invites yesterday, Dreamwidth gave me some more, so the offer still stands.

Right, I'm off to buy some strawberries and other fruity goodness, and then revision is going to happen.

Hay gaiz, I maded some icons to-day. I was going to make some Blue Drop (*quietly fangirls*) ones afterwards, but there's only so long a person can spend staring at a 100px by 100px square at 300 times magnification shifting the cropping two pixels at a time to get it just right.

Not that I put way too much effort into it, don't be preposterous. And I don't even put any fancy filters or whatnot onto them, so no-one can even tell. No-one except my ridiculous little perfectionist soul. XD

Does anyone know any good icon comms, by the way? I usually pimp myself out to [info]quality_icons and [info]_fandom_icons_ (and [info]anime_icons, but that seems to have disappeared while I wasn't looking), but I thought I should spread my amazing talents to a wider audience. For the betterment of humanity, you understand.

Joni Mitchell: We don't need no piece of paper from the city hall...
Tim: She's very adamant about not needing any official documentation. I think her local government official might have a different opinion on that.

ETA: Speaking of Maria†Holic, I have an awesomely pervtastic wallpaper at the moment. Not really sure why I felt compelled to share that. It amuses me, anyways. (What is it with those weird shiny bits on the leg, though? They make me think of burns. Never really got that style of colouring.)

Back in Durham! Have unpacked clothes &c, hung up calendar and written in important dates, checked my schedule for next term (completely lopsided. 6 hours on Tuesday, 2 on Thursday, NOTHING for the rest of the week - apart from 日本語のクラス on Wednesday nights, of course), have... not had breakfast yet, but have eaten all the leftover chocolate from my advent calendar. ¬_¬

I can't be bothered to check my uni email. Why can't they just set it up to allow forwarding like a sensible IT department? Fools.

Amazon wants me to but Chrono Trigger for DS, but I haven't got a spare £25 hanging around. Woe is me.

Internet, I have a question:

[So, LJ polls is where this LJ-WP integration thing I have going on rather falls down, so click to vote in my awesome life-changing poll about boobies: View Poll: bewbs]

Personally, the bags of jelly conveniently attached to my chest provide me with endless amusement. They wobble! XD

I suppose I should go do something useful with my life now. Like make tea! Mmm, tea.

I have seen the first 6 episodes of Gurren Lagann, and they make. My. Life. even more than I thought it would. Most ridiculously fantastically unapologetically crazily BADASS thing in existence.

This means I now have to agonise about which of my Top 5 favourites to switch out AGAIN. Damn, you, MAL, why can't you allow a list of 10? (Srs bsns, my friends.)

Tim: man, he's so lucky, keeps getting boobs to the face.
Me: Seriously. So, does that mean all you have to do to get boob'd is be a bit of a coward and hang around with an overconfident arse?
Tim: Well, you're a bit of an overconfident arse, so... I'm scared! :D?

Large-breasted women consistently do not appear out of nowhere to clutch either of us to their bosoms. It is the tragedy that defines our lives.

(It's real!)

I entirely did not find this by searching for 'cock' on eBay. Don't be silly.

...spicy. *eyebrow waggle*

Tim's been asking me whether I've finished this entry already all day. Buildup much? XD

It's snowing outsiiiide. :D Well, sort of. There is a fairly pathetic covering of about 2 or 3 flakes depth, and more is drifting down sporadically, but. It is snow. Of a kind.

Moving on to the feature presentation: let me share with you my new crush.

Ahaha, I feel like such a sleaze perving over characters in a show that I actually like for the writing and giant robot battles and not just pretties.

Nevertheless.

In case you didn't know, I kind of sort of maybe a little bit according to some sources can be shown after rigorous scientific experimentation and statistical analysis to have a GIGANTIC ANDROGYNY FETISH.

Meet Tieria, genetically engineered nanomachine-enhanced androgynous future person. (Future to, you know, now, not the show's time.)

(I blame procrastination. For everything.)

I'LL JUST BE IN MY BUNK THEN, SHALL I? (Guys, when he is being all undercover and such he does a woman-voice through the power of voice-actors sheer awesome and it was the best thing I heard all day, I am weird.)

Also: ball gowns and fake boobs: obviously standard equipment for any terrorist group's spaceship HQ.

XD I am so awesomely lame.

Moving on.. ¬_¬

I tried to go to the BBC's site for Merlin, to see what the earliest episode of it on iPlayer was, and it made flash freeze up and crash in every single browser installed on this machine. What the hell, BBC and/or Flash, what the hell. So I've just gotten the episode list from Wiki instead, and it seems they're all there, so I'ma watch the first in a minute. You shall be informed of my opinion forthwith, no doubt.

Chatted to the guy who sits next to me in Townscapes* yesterday, and he commiserated with me about having to pull an essay title out of thin air for Dating the Past. Woo, it's not just me who thinks the proffessor for that module is being unreasonable.

*Or, to give it its full title: "Pagans, Christians, and Muslims: Changing Townscapes in the 1st Century AD in the Mediterranean (North Africa and the Near East)". And they expect us to be concise.
