Man, how badass was Ep 13 of Gundam 00? 25 minutes of lasers and explosions and incredibly cool space-battles. Hellen approves of badass cool space-battles. *thumbs-up*

We're going to some people's New Year's party in a few minutes. I don't think I know any of them, but there's apparently a cheese fondue and Tim is coming, so if it's boring I have someone around to talk about space robots with. Which is not a euphemism. XD

I was going to do one of those New Year's Surveys that are going around, but... I am too lazy. Maybe later. Was going to write more, but must fly now!

I am back home, and I am tired, and I could blog properly, but I am tired, so instead I am going to read my book about tall thin pale inbred people and the hunter-gatherer barbarians they live with and the dinosaurs they ride on. Man, I ma so excited about the last part of this coming out next year. :D

...Except now there is a cat on my lap so I can't go to bed. MY LIFE, IT IS SO TRAGIQUE.

I'm turning 21 tomorrow. 8D

As the professor says.
My entire family was trying to solve a puzzle from Prof. Layton earlier, and then I GOT THE SOLUTION. My head is about ten times its usual size right now. XD

I am half-way through making a picspam post, but I'm too tired to finish it. Tomorrow! Meanwhile, have this picture of our hotel's mascot (our hotel has a mascot):

Oh man. Oh man oh man. I just had the best dinner OF MY LIFE. The mystery special event turned out to be THIS (look, I found an English website to link you to. Aren't I good to you guys?). Oh man.

The food was brilliant, and there were singing waiters and diverse acrobats & contortionists (a Tanzanian troupe! a petite Eastern European woman with stupendous muscle strength! two emo girls! other people!), an American comedian juggler (he juggled a bowling ball and an apple and an egg. And then he broke the egg and juggled the the two halves of the shell and the yolk - fr srs - and later he juggled small plastic balls in his mouth) and a guy in nerdy trousers who did yoyo tricks to the blues brothers and... and... SO MANY COOL THINGS. I WANT TO GO BACK. Have you ever seen a hip-hop!bellydance with air-guitaring? DIDN'T THINK SO. I think that was my favourite. Sosexy. XD

Oh man, I need sleep very very badly. Doing sightseeingy things tomorrow. We are going to see the inside of the Reichstag even if we freeze to death in the queue.

I am in Berlin, where they have free hotel wifi and fat bears.

I've been up since 4am and there's a mystery surprise thing happening tonight. Nap time.

Leaving for Berlin until the 30th tomorrow! Good times will happen. :D

I haven't really got anything exciting to blog about. Christmas was awesome as ever with food and tree and presents and more food and winful things. My parents were both delighted with the gifts I got them, which is awesome. I approve of this giving presents to the adults thing. I shall do it more often.

Oh, and we watched Some Like It Hot, which was cute and amusing and good times, and the new Wallace & Gromit short, which was likewise. And the Doctor Who special! Which was actually better than I had expected it to be, despite the fact that it had cybermen in it! Of course, that may just have been because it made me think of the Penny Arcade games, what with giant robots striding through cities & such (even if the time period and country were off). But the plot was pretty engaging and the visuals were nice, too. It made me want to own a red dress, for some reason.

Do we want a loot rundown?

Loot
Books! Books books books ♥
Solanin by Inio Asano
Red Seas Under Red Skies by Scott Lynch
The Book of the Dead by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child (from my godmother. I don't know why she is sending me English books, but it's a mystery thriller type thing with Egyptian tombs involved somehow, so it should be good!)
Also from my godmother a pencil case with a nice pen and a box of circular paper-clips (very odd and cool, have not tested how functional they are yet).

Then a nice top and a reversible fleece of great awesomeness. It's blue on one side and white with a pattern on the other, and reversible! So cool.

My brother got me a He-Man DVD, which is amazingly random (I think he thought I'd watched it when I was little) and shall probably be full of lulz, and Tim got my Professor Layton and the Curious Village, which I played some of before, but it was a ROM and it did what ROMs always do which is crash and delete my save, and besides, I try not to be too much of a thief, especially when the game is this awesome.

Oh, and Tim's mum got me a blender. Smoothies!

Did you know they are making a live-action Prof. Layton* film in Japan? Wikipedia informed me so. How cool is that.

(Also, I have owned the game for a matter of DAYS and I am already trying to figure out the likely age difference between Layton and his apprentice to see how much I have to transpose them into the future so I can slash away happily without squicking myself. HAVE I TOLD YOU HOW THE INTERNET HAS RUINED ME? IT REALLY HAS.)

* "Famous archaeologist and puzzle-solving detective", by the way. My hero. (I should compile a list of people I have proclaimed my heroes and role models. It'd probably be a lot more interesting than the one of fictional people I want to sleep with, which I've vaguely been working on since the idea occurred to me in a flash of procrastination a few weeks ago.)

Apart from the occasional twittering, I've been neglecting the internet since I got home. This is because I've been having super good times!

On the 21st I went with Tim and his family and a bunch of people I don't know to see Young Dick Barton: The Devil Wears Tweed which I thought was pretty awesome (once the actors got warmed up), no matter what Times Online says.

Afterwards we went out to dinner, and the day before that I went out to dinner with Tim and his brother and father and father's wife, and yesterday my family invited Tim and my brother's girlfriend to go out to dinner with us and I think there's only been ONE day since I've been back on which I haven't eaten restaurant food (and then we had take-out). :D
Recession, what recession? XD

We also made our amazingly delicious Christmas cookies yesterday (I think a handful of them are still left, even!), and to-day we put up and decorated the tree, and currently my brother and I are confined to our rooms while the parentals are preparing the Bescherung. And dinner, I think. At least I hope so, because I'm starving. XD

Anyway, it is Christmas, and I am pretty excited. Merry Christmas, internet. Have a good one. ♥ :3

I love it when the library catalogue tells me a book is not on loan and then by the time I get there someone else has STOLEN IT FROM UNDER MY FINGERS. D: It happens so often it's starting to make me doubt my numeracy skills. 382.094505 should be here, right, between 382.0944 and 382.0947... I can COUNT, can't I? o___o

This song came up on shuffle while I was in the library and I proceeded to listen to it on repeat for the entire time I was there. I have no idea where it came from since I haven't got any other music by them, but it is really very much of the win, so I may have to see about acquiring some.

You know what would make another pretty cool song for a fanvid? Jethro Tull's "I Am Your Gun" (which is a pretty cool song, anyways). I'm telling you, this will happen someday. And I will make maybe two videos and then I will collapse and my friends and family will go "ZOMG, WHAT IS WRONG?" and the doctors will say "What she was doing was just too cheesy, we're going to have to amputate."
":O AMPUTATE WHAT?"
"HER BRAIN."

And I will go "Awesome! Can I have a positronic one instead?" and then someone will probably hit me on the head with something heavy to shut me up.

I have been full of capslock these days. XD Maybe when I have recovered from essays I will calm down.

Going home on the train tomorrow. :3 Have not yet packed. I'll probably end up bringing about two shirts and one pair of pants because that's ALL I WILL HAVE ROOM FOR next to the million and two books I'm taking for dissertation purposes.

ZOMG I DREW AND INKED SOMETHING. I feel like it's been about a million years since the last time I did that. XD My inking is still pretty lame, but I'm gonna blame FOUR AM for that, at least partly.

Essay's almost done. :D
